Carly Fiorina, 0 %
Fiorina is at 0 percent in the prediction markets although she does have $12 million in campaign money, $6.8 million of which came in during the third quarter, which is better than Rubio's $5.7 million in the third quarter. While having a dispute with the hosts of the mainly liberal show, The View, a few days ago, and facing some comments about her appearance, namely from Trump, Fiorina is focusing on her strengths as a businesswoman. One of her sponsors, Kansas Representative and vice chairwoman of the House Republican Conference Lynn Jenkins, agrees. Jenkins said in a statement, "As a CPA who practiced public accounting for nearly 20 years before coming to Congress, I recognize when a system is as badly broken as Washington is, it is best to look to the outside for a new direction...Carly Fiorina is exactly the strong, steady, no nonsense businesswoman that our nation so desperately needs." Fiorina is among the candidates who have never held elected office and in the polls she sits alongside Paul and Kasich at 3 percent, according to Real Clear Politics. Fiorina spoke in one of her first interviews after announcing her candidacy in May about the importance of knowing what leadership truly is. She said to Megyn Kelly of Fox News,
"Leadership ... is not about position, power or title. It's about unlocking the potential of others. And I think now in this nation, we need a leader in the Oval Office who understands how to unlock and unleash the potential of this nation once again...And most importantly perhaps of all, I understand executive decision-making, which is making a tough call in a tough time with high stakes for which you're prepared to be held accountable. And you don't learn that in a book."
