The U.S. Embassy in Kabul has just issued a warning that an imminent attack is expected within the next 48 hours in Kabul City, Afghanistan. U.S. citizens are being warned to restrict their activity in the area. Not much information is known at this time, except that an attack is expected.

The emergency warning states that there are credible reports that an attack will happen within the next 48 hours. If U.S. citizens are moving around the city, they’re warned to exercise extreme caution. The warning didn’t include any information about when it could happen, the type of attack, or any specific targets.
The State Department has already issued a worldwide travel warning and it has specifically warned against travel to Afghanistan. U.S. citizens who are visiting or living in Afghanistan, along with U.S. facilities, are at risk of an attack. Kabul is especially at high risk and riots can occur anywhere, without warning.
