Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter, is speaking at the 2020 Republican Convention. She and her husband, Jared Kushner, have three children.
Here’s what you need to know.
1. Ivanka Trump & Jared Kushner Have Three Children
Ivanka Trump is married to businessman Jared Kushner, a real estate developer. They wed in 2009 at the Trump National Golf Club. She has said that they complement each other well and make sure they make time for each other and their children. She told Vogue:
His own dreams are bold, and I love that in someone, but he’s incredibly relaxed and calm. The world could be collapsing around him, and nothing fazes him. He’s very solution-oriented. Plus it was nice finding someone who is a genuinely good person. I don’t take that for granted.”
Trump and Kushner have three children: Arabella Rose, Joseph Frederick, and Theodore James.
Trump is an executive at her father’s company, but has said that family is most important to her.
“At the end of the day, it’s my family that is at the center of my life,” she told USA Today.
She and Kushner are a team when it comes to raising their children. They try to feed their children healthy food for the most part, but every now and then will give them a treat. As for her pregnancy, Ivanka told ET Online that this last one was her easiest one yet: “You do kind of forget about it. I have to remind myself when I want that coffee in the morning.”
2. Her Oldest Child, Arabella, Loves Being in Front of the Camera
Arabella Rose Kushner is Trump’s oldest child. Arabella is really social and loves the camera. “She’s a total ham,” Ivanka told USA Today. Ivanka often shares photos and videos of Arabella on Instagram.
3. Trump’s Son Joseph Is a Little Shy
Ivanka said that her son, Joseph Frederick Kushner, is a little shyer than Arabella. She said that in order to get him to appear in her video announcement about her third baby, she had to bribe him with a lollipop, USA Today reported.
4. Ivanka Trump Once Said She Doesn’t Like Sharing Her Baby’s Gender When She’s Pregnant Because She’s a Little Superstitious
Trump announced her third pregnancy all over social media, with a YouTube video posted to Facebook, photos on Instagram, and more. When she first announced the pregnancy, she said that both of her children were incredibly excited, USA Today reported. She added, Arabella wanted a baby girl and Joseph wanted a brother.
As far as the baby’s gender, Trump said at the time that she wasn’t planning on sharing that before the baby was born. Back when she was pregnant with Joseph, she and Kushner wouldn’t tell anyone the baby’s sex either because they were superstitious about it, Fit Pregnancy reported:
I’m superstitious. I don’t like to tell people, but I don’t have the discipline to keep it a surprise. There are so many variables in motherhood that, those I can control, I like to.”
She described their third child on Instagram as a “very special gift” that couldn’t wait to give her husband.
Theodore is now four years old.
5. Donald Trump Joked That She Might Give Birth While He Was Giving His South Carolina Speech
Donald Trump joked during his South Carolina speech in 2016 that his daughter, who was with him on stage, might give birth while he was talking.
He said: “And Ivanka, we have a hospital ready just in case and South Carolina, we’re going to have a baby and there’s nothing wrong with that. It could be any second. It could even be before I’m finished.”
Ivanka Trump’s third baby was Donald Trump’s eighth grandchild, USA Today reported.
