The GOP candidates will have a small gap between primaries. The Republicans have two weeks between the western nominating events and the Wisconsin primary.
It remains to be seen whether the extended time between primaries will have any impact on the Wisconsin primary on Tuesday, April 5. Donald Trump is the leader among the Republican candidates and will look to extend his lead in Wisconsin.
There has been limited polling done in Wisconsin, but a recent Emerson poll has Ted Cruz with a slight lead in the state. A win for Cruz would allow him to cut into Trump’s lead.
The Wisconsin primary comes after Cruz and Trump each won one western state in the March 22 nominating events.
