Michigan GOP Polls 2016: Donald Trump Remains on Top

After Ted Cruz won the most delegates during the March 5 elections, Donald Trump will look to answer back with big victories during the March 8 caucus and primaries. Michigan is seen as the most important state on March 8 given it has the most delegates at stake of the four states holding nominating events.

Early polling numbers show Trump with a sizable lead in most polls. According to RealClear Politics, Trump has an average lead of 15.4 percentage points in the early polls. Michigan is seen as the biggest prize for GOP candidates before the Ohio and Florida March 15 primaries.

Here’s a look at the early Michigan GOP polls.

RealClear Politics keeps a running average of the Michigan polls. The average includes data from five polls. The Monmouth poll conducted March 3-6, the FOX 2 Detroit/Mitchell poll conducted March 6, the Trafalgar Group poll conducted March 5-6, the ARG poll conducted March 4-5 and the CBS News/YouGov poll conducted March 2-4.

Monmouth

The Monmouth poll was conducted March 3-6. It has a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points.

FOX 2 Detroit/Mitchell

The FOX 2 Detroit/Mitchell poll was conducted March 6. It has a margin of error of 3.8 percentage points.

ARG

The ARG poll was conducted March 4-5. It has a margin of error of 5 percentage points.

CBS News/YouGov

The CBS News/YouGov poll was conducted March 2-4. It has a margin of error of 5.9 percentage points.

Trafalgar Group

The Trafalgar Group poll was conducted March 5-6. It has a margin of error of 4 percentage points.
