Donald Trump got a big victory in New York in Tuesday’s primary. Trump will leave the Empire State with the majority of the delegates.

Heading into the New York primary, Trump led Ted Cruz by over 200 delegates.

New York had 95 delegates at stake with a multi-tiered allocation process. There are 14 delegates allocated proportionally based on the overall results throughout the state. The 27 congressional districts get three delegates each for a total of 81 delegates.

At the congressional level, the delegates are split 2 to 1 between the top two finishers in each congressional district. New York has a winner-take-all trigger once a candidate has more than 50 percent of the vote. This applies to each congressional district as well as the 14 delegates allocated based on the overall popular vote.
