Hillary Clinton Claims 5 Guam Superdelegates Despite Territory Having No Electoral College Votes

At the Guam Democratic Caucus on May 7, the unincorporated and organized territory of the United States gave their five previously uncommitted superdelegates to Clinton over Sanders. According to CNN, just 1,305 people voted in the caucus with Clinton winning 777 votes over Bernie Sander’s 528.

According to The Huffington Post, the Pacific island territory had 7 delegates to offer. Clinton took 60% of the vote and Sanders 40%, and after the vote the 5 superdelegates were assigned to Clinton.

Because of Guam’s non-state status, its delegates and superdelegates count but it cannot vote in general elections for President.
