In a press conference from Scotland this morning, Donald Trump praised Britain’s decision to leave the European Union and compared the movement to his own campaign.
“What happened should have happened, and I think they’ll end up being stronger for it, and they’ll control their country and they’ll control everything about their country,” he said.
Trump also added that the people of Britain want to take their country back and not let certain people into it. Later, he went on to say that David Cameron made the right decision in resigning, although he called prime minister a “good man.”
This comes a few days after Trump said that he hasn’t followed the Brexit news and is not particularly invested in it.
“I don’t think anybody should listen to me because I haven’t really focused on it very much,” Trump said.
