Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will hold a rally in Council Bluffs, Iowa this afternoon.
Trump’s event will be held at the Mid America Center Convention Center beginning at 3:00 p.m. Central Time. It can be viewed in the embedded YouTube player via Right Side Broadcasting.
This will be the Republican candidate’s second rally of the week following the first presidential debate on Monday. Although even many who support Trump have expressed concern that Hillary Clinton seemingly won the debate, on Tuesday, Trump bragged that he beat her in all of the online polls and that he did a very good job.
Trump also said that he was holding back during the debate.
“I watched her very carefully and I was also holding back,” Trump said, according to CBS News’ Sopan Deb. “I didn’t want to do anything to embarrass her. But I watched her and she was stuck in the past.”
During Tuesday’s Florida rally, Trump did not make mention of Alicia Machado, former Miss Universe who Trump mocked for gaining weight and who has been telling her story in the media. Clinton brought up Machado during the presidential debate, saying that Trump called her Miss Piggy and Miss Housekeeping among other insults. Trump doubled down on this criticism of her the morning after the debate, again bringing up her weight gain.
“She was the winner, and she gained a massive amount of weight, and it was a real problem…” Trump said on Fox and Friends on September 27th.
According to The New York Times, Machado gained 12 pounds after winning Miss Universe.
Donald Trump is currently beating Hillary Clinton in Iowa, ahead of her by nearly five points in Real Clear Politics’ polling average.
