President Donald Trump has a way of making the internet stir with the press of a single button.

Trump, who has utilized Twitter more than any other president, did so just after midnight Wednesday (12:06 a.m. EDT) when he sent out the word “covfefe” in a tweet to his 31 million followers on the social media platform.

The problem, if you haven’t discovered yet, is that “covfefe” isn’t a word. It appears that Trump, who has become known for posting tweets at odd ours of the night, had a typo when trying to spell the word “coverage.” The strange part is that the tweet remained up on his personal Twitter account for well over two hours.

Within just one minute of him sending out the questionable tweet, it had over 10,000 re-tweets and even more likes. It sent the internet into a stir as people tried to decipher exactly what it was that he was trying to say.

When searching the term in English dictionaries, it comes up completely empty. That prompted Merriam-Webster to sent out a humorous tweet commenting on the alleged error.

If Trump was meaning to write “despite the constant negative press coverage,” it’s still unknown what he was exactly trying to say.

Coincidentally, the Scripps National Spelling Bee begins Wednesday in Washington D.C. So maybe the president was trying to promote the annual competition of the nation’s best spellers?

Whatever it is Trump was trying to say, it sure ignited the internet on fire and led to some hilarious tweets.
