The Bengals have placed McPherson (right groin) on IR. McPherson will thus miss at least four games, meaning that the soonest he'd be eligible to return from IR would be Week 18 against the Steelers. To replace him, the Bengals officially added fellow kicker Cade York to their practice squad ahead of the team's Monday night game against the Cowboys.

Placed on IR
The Bengals have placed McPherson (right groin) on IR. McPherson will thus miss at least four games, meaning that the soonest he'd be eligible to return from IR would be Week 18 against the Steelers. To replace him, the Bengals officially added fellow kicker Cade York to their practice squad ahead of the team's Monday night game against the Cowboys.
In line to miss time
McPherson is expected to miss a few weeks due to a groin injury, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. While the report indicates that McPherson's injury is not season-ending, he's on track to miss some time, per Garafolo. With that in mind, the Bengals are slated to add Cade York to their practice squad ahead of Monday night's game against the Cowboys.
Converts all six kicks vs. Steelers
McPherson made his lone field-goal attempt and went 5-for-5 on extra-point tries in Sunday's 44-38 loss to the Steelers. McPherson was perfect on his kicking attempts Sunday, though it amounted to just eight total points. He's 10-for-10 on field-goal attempts under 40 yards, but beyond that he's just 6-for-12, including 3-for-7 from 50-plus yards. McPherson is up to 85 points through 12 regular-season games, going 16-for-22 on field-goal tries and 37-for-38 on extra-point attempts.
Misses two kicks Sunday night
McPherson made two of his four field-goal tries and converted all three of his extra-point attempts during Sunday's 34-27 loss against the Chargers. McPherson has not missed a field goal shorter than 40 yards this season, but he's been far less consistent on longer kicks, and the story was no different in Week 11. It was especially costly Sunday, as both the 48-yarder he missed in the middle of the fourth quarter and the 51-yarder he missed with less than two minutes remaining would have given the Bengals the lead. He'll be looking to bounce back after Cincinnati's bye in Week 12.
Doesn't attempt any FGs in Week 10
McPherson converted all four of his extra-point tries and did not attempt a field goal in Thursday's loss to Baltimore. McPherson came through when called upon, but all of his kicks were PATs. The Bengals opted to try for a two-point conversion on their final touchdown with less than 40 seconds remaining in the contest, costing McPherson a fifth point-after attempt and resulting in a loss when the team was unable to convert. McPherson has made more than one field goal just once over his past six contests.
Delivers 11 points vs. Las Vegas
McPherson made both of his field-goal attempts and all five of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 41-24 win over the Raiders. Sunday was the third time this season that McPherson has contributed at least 10 points for the Bengals. Through the first nine games of the regular season, McPherson has connected on 13 of 17 field-goal attempts and has gone 25-for-26 on extra-point attempts.
Misses 54-yard field-goal attempt
McPherson made one of two field-goal attempts and converted on both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 37-17 loss to the Eagles. McPherson made a 27-yard chip shot early in the second quarter, but his 54-yard field-goal attempt later in the frame missed wide left. It was his fourth miss on a field-goal attempt this season, and three of the other misses have come over the Bengals' last four regular-season games. McPherson will look to get back on track against the Raiders on Sunday, Nov. 3.
Misses lone try at Cleveland
McPherson missed his only field-goal try and converted all three of his extra-point attempts in Sunday's 21-14 win at Cleveland. A 50-yard try late in the fourth quarter would have extended the Bengals' lead to three scores, but McPherson pushed it wide right. His accuracy to start this season hasn't been totally up to par with the standard he's set for himself over the course of his career, but he should have a chance to make positive corrections as the year progresses if Cincinnati's offense continues to have success moving the ball.
Quiet in low-scoring affair
McPherson made his only field-goal attempt and converted both of his two extra-point tries during Sunday's 17-7 win at the Giants. Not much offense was generated by either team at MetLife in Week 6, but McPherson did what little was asked of him to help get the Bengals to their second win of the season. He'll hope to see more chances in Week 7 at Cleveland.
