Tanner McLachlan: Breaking News

The Chargers signed McLachlan to a reserve/future contract Tuesday. McLachlan was cut from the Chargers' practice squad Jan. 6 but will be on the team's 90-man roster when the NFL offseason officially begins Feb. 9. That gives the 2024 sixth-rounder the opportunity to impress coaching staff during OTAs and minicamp and gain momentum heading into training camp.

The Chargers cut McLachlan from the practice squad Tuesday. McLachlan's spot on the practice squad will be taken by wide receiver Luke Grimm. A second-year pro, McLachlan ultimately was not elevated to suit up for a regular-season game with Los Angeles in 2025.

Los Angeles re-signed McLachlan to the practice squad Friday. McLachlan was cut from the Bolts' practice squad Wednesday, but he now resurfaces with the unit. The second-year pro initially inked with Los Angeles' practice squad Dec. 11 after a workout with the team, and he has yet to be elevated for a game this season.
