Morgan signed a reserve/future contract with the Titans on Monday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports. Morgan spent his 2024 campaign on the Titans' practice squad after failing to catch on in New Orleans. His most recent in-game action came with the Bengals in 2023, when he appeared in three games and primarily contributed on special teams (four offensive snaps and 52 on special teams). The 28-year-old will likely compete for a similar role in Tennessee ahead of the team's 2025 season.
Tennessee signed Morgan to its practice squad Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Morgan was cut by New Orleans prior to Week 1, but now he's found a new opportunity with a different team. It might take an injury for him to be elevated to the active roster before the end of the season, though.
Morgan was released by the Saints on Tuesday. Morgan reeled in four catches for 47 yards during the preseason after signing with New Orleans in March. The wide receiver has appeared in at least three games in each of his five prior NFL seasons, all with Cincinnati, and he'll now look for a new opportunity elsewhere.
Morgan (hip) caught one of four targets for 13 yards during Saturday's 16-14 preseason win against the Cardinals. Morgan was dealing with a hip injury leading into Saturday's exhibition, but he managed to play 31 offensive snaps and should be healthy moving forward. The 27-year-old first got on the field in the second quarter and was out there for the final offensive series of the game, and he ended up tied with No.1 wideout Chris Olave and second-year wideout A.T. Perry for a team high in targets. Morgan's availability should help his case to eventually make the final 53-man roster, as fellow wideouts Equanimeous St. Brown (hamstring), Mason Tipton (hamstring) and Bub Means all did not play.
The Saints have agreed to terms with Morgan, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports. Over the course of 51 regular-season games (all with the Bengals) Morgan has caught just five passes for 29 yards. This coming season, the 27-year-old, who was born in New Orleans, will provide the Saints with some needed depth at wideout and on special teams.
It's the second time Morgan has been promoted to the active roster since signing with the Bengals' practice squad Aug. 31. In his first appearance Week 9 against the Bills, Morgan played 10 special teams snaps. His elevation comes with Tee Higgins (hamstring) ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans and Ja'Marr Chase (back) listed as questionable.
