The 49ers signed Dowell to a reserve/future contract Wednesday. Dowell has bounced around the NFL this season, residing on the Titans' and Ravens' practice squad for separate stints. The wide receiver was not elevated for any regular-season games in 2025 and will look to seize the opportunity to play for the 49ers in 2026.
Dowell (undisclosed) worked out for the Falcons on Tuesday, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports. Dowell was cut from the Ravens' practice squad with an injury settlement in October, but he's apparently now healthy enough to work out for teams. Dowell hasn't appeared in a regular-season NFL game since 2023 with the Titans.
The Ravens cut Dowell (undisclosed) from the practice squad with an injury settlement Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Dowell joined the Ravens' practice squad Monday, but he will no longer be a part of the organization after being let go Saturday. The nature and severity of his injury isn't clear, but once he's fully healthy, Dowell will look to join a team in need of extra help on special teams and at wide receiver.
