Holland logged 15 points (5-15 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and two blocks across 24 minutes during Saturday's 94-81 Summer League loss to the 76ers. The No. 5 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Holland offers a lot of long-term upside, but he'll have to compete for minutes with the likes of Tobias Harris, Ausar Thompson and Jalen Duren in the frontcourt next season. The forward played for the G League Ignite in 2023-24, averaging 19.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.4 steals in 31.9 minutes across 29 appearances.

Latest Pistons News
Ron Holland : Notches 15 points
Bobi Klintman : Officially signs with Motor City
Klintman signed a four-year, $7.99 million contract with the Pistons on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Klintman's rookie contract will be fully guaranteed over the first two seasons. The No. 37 overall pick played one season at Wake Forest before going over to Cairns in the NBL. During his time playing professionally for Cairns, the 21-year-old averaged 9.7 points and 4.8 rebounds across 21.7 minutes in 23 games.
Paul Reed : Heading to Motor City
The Pistons claimed Reed off waivers Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Reed is on the second year of a three-year, $24 million deal, and he will now join former 76ers teammate, Tobias Harris, in Detroit's frontcourt. Reed will likely compete for minutes with Isaiah Stewart off the bench behind Jalen Duren. After averaging 7.3 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.0 blocks across 19.4 minutes in 82 regular-season games with the club last year, Reed was waived by the 76ers on July 6.
Ausar Thompson : Out for Summer League
Thompson won't participate in Summer League while recovering from a blood clot, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports. Thompson's rookie season was cut short in March after undergoing treatment for a blood clot. He finished with averages of 8.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals across 25.1 minutes in 63 regular-season games. The Pistons are likely playing it safe with the 21-year-old, as he is expected to ramp up on-court activity during the summer and be ready for training camp in the fall.
Cade Cunningham : Reaches five-year extension
Cunningham (knee) and the Pistons agreed on a five-year, $224 million maximum rookie extension Tuesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Cunningham's extension could end up being worth as much as $269 million, an outlay that signals that Detroit is committed to building around the 22-year-old guard. Coming off a 14-win season, the Pistons have made a concerted effort this offseason to bring aboard veterans who can space the floor, with Detroit adding Malik Beasley, Tim Hardaway and Tobias Harris in free agency. Though his 2023-24 season was cut short in early April due to left knee tendinopathy, Cunningham showed signs of growth in his third professional campaign, averaging 22.7 points, 7.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 33.5 minutes over 62 games. He should be healthy for the start of training camp this fall, if he hasn't been medically cleared already.
Simone Fontecchio : Staying in Detroit
Fontecchio (toe) has re-signed with the Pistons on a two-year, $16 million deal, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports. Fontecchio posted solid numbers with Detroit last season and will get another chance to impress in Motor City. The 28-year-old was acquired by the Pistons via trade with the Jazz in February and averaged 15.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.9 steals in 30.2 minutes for Detroit while starting in nine of 16 appearances. He's expected to be healthy come training camp in the fall.
Tobias Harris : Agrees to deal with Detroit
Harris and the Pistons agreed to a two-year, $52 million deal Monday, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports. The writing has been on the wall for a while for Harris in Philadelphia, and the Pistons have long been rumored to be an admirer of the forward. Getting Cade Cunningham some veteran leadership and shooting was a priority, and the Pistons did exactly that with this move. In 2023-24, Harris produced averages of 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.3 three-pointers over 70 regular-season games.
Cade Cunningham : Set to sign five-year extension
Cunningham (knee) agreed Sunday with the Pistons on a five-year, $226 million max extension, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Cunningham has been a bright spot for the Pistons since being selected with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He missed most of the 2022-23 campaign due to a left shin injury, but he bounced back in 2023-24, averaging 22.7 points, 7.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 33.5 minutes per game over 62 appearances. He missed the end of the season due to left knee tendinopathy but should be back to full health for the start of training camp.
