Paul Reed: Breaking News

Reed had six points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six rebounds and three blocks in 11 minutes during Friday's 93-79 victory over the Magic in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Reed moved back into the rotation, logging 11 minutes, the most he has played thus far in the playoffs. With Isaiah Stewart struggling to impact the game, Reed was thrown in, providing the team with his usual assortment of rebounds and defensive stats. The series is now tied at 3-3, with the two teams heading back to Detroit for Game 7.

Reed (coach's decision) went unused off the bench Monday in the Pistons' 94-88 loss to the Magic in Game 4 of the first-round playoff series. After seeing action in each of the Pistons' final 20 games of the regular season, Reed has essentially fallen out of the rotation through Detroit's first four playoff contests while head coach J.B. Bickerstaff has leaned almost exclusively on Jalen Duren and Isaiah Stewart as the team's options at center. Reed has appeared in just two of the four games of the series, making a 45-second cameo in garbage time of a Game 2 win and then logging seven minutes in Game 3, when Duren contended with foul trouble.

Reed will come off the bench for Sunday's Game 1 against the Magic, Eric Vincent of ClutchPoints.com reports. This is an expected move with Jalen Duren healthy again. Reed was sharp in a spot start for the regular season finale with 26 points (11-11 FG, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks in 21 minutes.
