Williams (knee) has been limited to shooting at practice, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports. Williams has yet to be cleared for contact, but coach Jordi Fernandez said the forward is progressing well. Whether or not he's ready in time for Saturday's game against the Jazz remains to be seen. Keon Johnson will likely see an uptick in minutes in the meantime.

Ziaire Williams : Limited to shooting
Williams (knee) has been limited to shooting at practice, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports. Williams has yet to be cleared for contact, but coach Jordi Fernandez said the forward is progressing well. Whether or not he's ready in time for Saturday's game against the Jazz remains to be seen. Keon Johnson will likely see an uptick in minutes in the meantime.
Cam Thomas : Not cleared for contact yet
Thomas (hamstring) hasn't been cleared for contact yet, Sharif Phillips-Keaton of USA Today reports. Nets coach Jordi Fernandez said Thomas is progressing well, but he's been mostly limited to shooting. He's due to be re-evaluated soon, but he won't be cleared in time for Thursday's game against the Raptors.
Trendon Watford : Won’t play Thursday
Watford (hamstring) will not play Thursday against the Raptors, Meghan Triplett of YES Network reports. Watford is considered day-to-day with soreness in his left hamstring. He did not play in the second half of Monday's loss to Cleveland, but it's unclear if he'll be ready in time for Saturday's game against the Jazz. Jalen Wilson and Noah Clowney could see a bump in minutes in the meantime.
Jalen Wilson : Sinks four triples in loss
Wilson totaled 13 points (4-11 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 1-2 FT), one rebound, two assists and two steals over 29 minutes during Monday's 130-101 loss to the Cavaliers. Over the last two games, Wilson has totaled 28 points, six assists, three rebounds, four steals and seven made three-pointers. With Dennis Schroder in Golden State and Cam Thomas (hamstring), Ziaire Williams (knee) and Bojan Bogdanovic (foot) all out, Wilson has a clear path to heavy minutes, even if he continues to operate off the bench.
Nic Claxton : Plays only 22 minutes
Claxton totaled eight points (4-7 FG), four rebounds, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes during Monday's 130-101 loss to Cleveland. After scoring in double figures and grabbing at least eight rebounds in three straight games, Claxton has failed to reach either of those plateaus in two consecutive contests. His 22 minutes played tied his fewest since Oct. 25. Since moving into the starting lineup to begin December, Claxton has averaged 12.2 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks in 26.7 minutes across six games, but he's certainly trending in the wrong direction after his latest performances.
Shake Milton : Could see larger role
Milton supplied five points (2-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt), five rebounds and one assist over 17 minutes before fouling out of Monday's 130-101 loss to the Cavaliers. With Dennis Schroder now in Los Angeles, Milton moves up the depth chart by default and will have the opportunity to lock down the backup point guard minutes. He's played well in a limited role so far this season, hitting 45.5 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from beyond the arc with averages of 6.2 points, 2.0 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 0.5 steals and 0.9 three-pointers in 16.4 minutes per contest.
Day'Ron Sharpe : Solid showing in Monday’s loss
Sharpe finished with 15 points (5-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and three steals in 20 minutes off the bench during Monday's 130-101 loss to Cleveland. The backup center produced his best game yet since making a belated season debut Dec. 2 due to a hamstring injury he suffered in training camp. The Nets are in sell mode and may try to find a taker for Nic Claxton's contract, which runs through 2027-28. If he does get moved, Sharpe -- who is in the final year of his rookie deal and will be a restricted free agent this offseason -- could see his fantasy value soar in a starting role.
Ben Simmons : Modest numbers in Monday’s start
Simmons ended with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 31 minutes during Monday's 130-101 loss to the Cavaliers. Getting the start at point guard in the wake of the Dennis Schroder trade, Simmons scored in double digits for the first time in December, but he otherwise didn't see his production increase despite a season-high workload. While the Nets will likely move other assets, Simmons' $40.3 million expiring contract will be tough to ship out unless the team is taking back another unwieldy contract, which the front office won't want to do as it positions the roster for the future.
