Shooting at Anti-Gay-Marriage Family Research Council

A security guard was shot in the arm today at the headquarters of the anti-gay-marriage Family Research Council in Washington, D.C.

The National Journal reports that the victim is alive and the suspect has been arrested.

A Metropolitan Police Department spokesman said the victim was “conscious and breathing”after the incident at 10:50 a.m.

The president of the conservative Christian organization, Tony Perkins, made a statement, published on its blog:

The police are investigating this incident. Our first concern is with our colleague who was shot today. Our concern is for him and his family.
