Anthony Scaramucci, Donald Trump’s White House communications director for a few days, is generating headlines, popping up on TV and behind the press briefing podium and giving scathing quotes to magazine reporters. (On July 31, it was announced that Scaramucci had already resigned as communications director, perhaps at the behest of new Chief of Staff John Kelly.)

That high visibility has some people wondering: How tall is the self-made financier, who has a net worth in the millions of dollars?

Scaramucci is said to be about 5 foot 8 inches tall.

That’s a lot shorter than his boss; Donald Trump stands 6 foot 2 inches tall. However, it’s the same height as Sean Spicer and Reince Priebus, who both quit after Scaramucci was named to the job.

Scaramucci doesn’t seem to take his shortness personally. In fact, he brought up the subject in his very first press briefing.

“Scaramucci, wearing a well-fitting blue suit, deflected any probing questions, made self-deprecating jokes about his vanity and height and confidently declared his ‘love’ for the president several times,” Bloomberg reports.

The much caricatured Sean Spicer quit after Trump chose Scaramucci for the position because, according to many news reports, he was unhappy with the choice. Spicer was famously mocked by Melissa McCarthy on Saturday Night Live for his combative press briefings with the news media.

Scaramucci, 53, is a native of Long Island, where he still lives with his wife, Deidre, although Page Six is now reporting that Deidre has filed for divorce. He has frequently spoken about his upbringing in an Italian family on Long Island that he describes as middle class.

“My dad labored in the sand mines of Long Island for 42 years,” Scaramucci wrote on Facebook. “He taught me what it meant to put in an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. Now he has trouble hearing due to the effects of heavy machinery, but he’d tell you it was worth it. My father’s sacrifices allowed his children to be upwardly mobile.”

Anthony Scaramucci went to Harvard Law School, started a company, worked for Goldman Sachs, earned a fortune, and was a member of Donald Trump’s campaign finance committee before assuming his current role in the White House, where he will tangle with the press and develop Trump’s overall communications strategy. He is the father of three children, and Deidre was his second wife.
