DWTS Elimination: Did Anyone Go Home on ‘Most Memorable Year’ Week?

DWTS Week 5 Elimination

Heavy/ABC Which couple was eliminated during "Most Memorable Year" on DWTS?

Week 5 of “Dancing with the Stars” season 32 was jam-packed with emotional moments. There was a beautiful tribute performance to honor late judge Len Goodman, and 10 couples danced their hearts out in hopes of continuing their DWTS journey.

“Dancing with the Stars” viewers had plenty to appreciate with the October 24 episode, and there had been some speculation there would be no elimination. Would the show really cut somebody at the end of the show with such emotional stories plus a tribute to Goodman?

Here’s what you need to know:

Many Performances Earned Rave Reviews & High Scores

Sorvino and Savchenko did a contemporary routine that included her oldest daughter. They were inspired by Sorvino’s role in the movie, “Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion” and danced to Cyndi Lauper’s “Time After Time.” The pair received a score of 22 out of 30.

Madix and Pashkov danced a Viennese waltz, using the Billy Eilish song “Happier Than Ever.” Their performance received 24 points out of 30 from the judges.

Lawson and Chigvintsev performed their contemporary to the Selena Gomez song “Lose You to Love Me.” The judges gave them a score of 28 out of 30, including a 10 from Carrie Ann Inaba.

Hannigan and Farber did a Viennese waltz to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. The judges gave them a total score of 21 out of 30.

Jowsey and Arnold’s performance was a contemporary routine to Andy Grammer’s “Keep Your Head Up.” The couple earned a score of 18 out of 30. In Jowsey’s case, all three judges pointed out some negatives in this week’s dance. Inaba said it was a step backward from last week’s performance. Hough noted he needed to work on his musicality and rhythm.

Mraz and Karagach danced a quickstep to the Willie Nelson song “On the Road Again.” They earned rave reviews for their dance and earned 27 out of 30 points.

Another ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Pair Earned a ’10’

Pons and Armstrong had the contemporary genre and used the Pretenders song “I’ll Stand By You.” The duo received 24 out of 30 points.

Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy’s dance was a Viennese waltz to the song “Until I Found You.” Their score was 28 out of 30 points, which included a 10 from Derek Hough.

Umansky and Slater’s “Dancing with the Stars” performance was a contemporary routine to Andra Day’s “Rise Up.” Their performance earned 24 out of 30 points.

Williams and Murgatroyd danced to Steppenwolf’s song “Born to Be Wild” for their paso doble. The judges gave them a score of 24 out of 30. Hough declared the pair’s dance was one Goodman would have loved.

Three Couples Were in Danger of Elimination

Co-host Alfonso Ribeiro revealed the bad news toward the end of the episode when he confirmed there was an elimination. He noted that the voting was very close, with a determination on who had the lowest votes not finalized until the last second.

After calling seven couples safe, Ribeiro indicated three couples were at risk of elimination. The three couples included Jowsey and Arnold, Hannigan and Farber, along with Sorvino and Savchenko. Ultimately, Savchenko and Sorvino were eliminated.
