UFC welterweight and H.I.T. Squad team member Brian Foster was expected to participate in July’s UFC 116, but an injury has made an appearance that evening no longer possible.
While playing basketball with local high schoolers Wednesday, Foster fell, broke his Tibia, and dislocated his ankle. The news was reported by MMAjunkie.com today after speaking with Foster’s trainer Marc Fiore. The injury will keep Foster out 6-8 weeks, and Foster has hopes of returning to action in August.
Foster has exploded onto the welterweight scene recently due to his fast-paced, aggressive style. He is coming off a loss to Chris Lytle at UFC 110 in Australia and is currently 1-2 in the UFC. His lone win came over Brock Larson via technical knockout, while Rick Story is the other man to defeat Foster inside the Octagon.
