Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz was arrested this morning at his Huntington Beach home on charges of domestic violence.
Ortiz, clad in Punishment shorts and a United States Army physical training jacket, was handcuffed and placed in the back of a squad car. Girlfriend Jenna Jameson told TMZ that “my babies are alright. Everything is okay. He’s in jail.” Jameson also said she would be pressing charges against Ortiz, and has posted a message on Twitter saying that she’s leaving the popular social networking service.
Jameson’s father appears to have made the initial call to emergency services.
Ortiz is currently coaching on season 11 of The Ultimate Fighter. He was scheduled to face Chuck Liddell in June, but was forced to pull out of the show for unspecified reasons and was replaced with Rich Franklin.
When contacted by Heavy.com, the Huntington Beach Police Department verified that Ortiz had been arrested. Ortiz was released on $25,000 bond shortly after 7 p.m. ET.
We’ll have more on this story as it unfolds.
Update: Dana White says Ortiz could be fired if the allegations prove to be true.
