In the 205-pound bout, Diabate looks to get back to his winning ways after losing to Anthony Perosh at UFC 138 last year. The French striker is an even 2-2 in the UFC, including his victories over Luiz Cane and Steve Cantwell.
Like his upcoming opponent, Kruth is a striker with a decorated kickboxing background. But he also has found success in mixed martial arts, defeating all five men who have stepped up against him during his young career in the sport. Adding to his hype, the Swedish fighter has yet to answer the second-round bell, having needed only one round to earn his stoppage victories.
In the 170-pound bout, Swedish fighter Yousef hopes to win in front of his home crowd against Thoresen, a Norwegian. Yousef is a perfect 6-0 as a mixed martial artist, having won five of those six contests via stoppage. But Thoresen enters the contest with more experience, boasting a 16-2-1 record that includes 14 submission victories.
UFC on Fuel TV 2 is set for Stockholm, Sweden, at the Ericsson Globe Arena on April 14. The event also will feature a middleweight contest between fan favorite Brian Stann and Alessio Sakara, announced Thursday by the promotion.
