Music Teacher Maryrose Kristopik at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where gunman Adam Lanza went on a killing spree, is applauded for her heroic deeds as she saved students’ lives.
Kristopik saved 15 children from death by ushering them into a closet and barricading the door to her classroom as gunman Adam Lanza hammered on the door and repeatedly shouted “Let me in!” reports Digital Journal.
Kristopik wasn’t sure if the students were going to survive, but her brave actions have parents hailing her as a hero.
An unnamed mother in her 40s, whose 9-year-old son was among the children at the school, said “I want to thank her. She saved their lives,” reports Daily Mail.
Another parent, Brenda Lebinski, said her 8-year-old daughter is safe thanks to the teacher’s quick thinking.
