In a widely expected result, Donald Trump won the New Hampshire primary by a significant margin. Trump led New Hampshire polling by double digits for months prior to the primary election and was given a 69 percent chance to win by election forecaster FiveThirtyEight.
Ohio governor John Kasich, who had staked his entire campaign on the New Hampshire primary, finished an above-expectations second. Several GOP candidates desperately need some momentum heading into the race, and a crowded field vying for second place could become a last stand for Chris Christie, John Kasich, and others.
