Lions head coach Dan Campbell suggested Wednesday that he's optimistic about Gibbs' health after the running back suffered a hamstring injury in Monday's practice, Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com reports. "I think we're gonna be fine here," Campbell told 97-1 The Ticket Detroit. "So, I think we'll be good." Campbell didn't get into details or provide a timeline for Gibbs, merely hinting at general optimism. Gibbs suffered the injury 27 days before Detroit's season opener Sept. 8 at the Rams, and while he's unlikely to practice for at least the next week or two, he seemingly has a chance to be ready for the rematch of last year's wild-card playoff game.

Gibbs has been working all over the formation during training camp to date, potentially setting him up to easily surpass the 234 touches for 1,261 yards from scrimmage and 11 total touchdowns that he compiled in 15 regular-season contests as a rookie in 2023.

That type of utilization could allow Gibbs to materialize as a true Year 2 breakout, even with positional mate David Montgomery still projected to handle notable volume out of the backfield.

This backfield will remain a one-two punch, and Montgomery is the favorite for carries when the Lions are trying to kill the clock when they have a lead. Gibbs' fantasy ceiling remains extremely high due to the overall explosive nature of Detroit's offense.
