Jonah Williams: Everything you need to know

Williams signed with the Cardinals on Thursday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. The defensive end appeared in 15 games for the Saints last year, recording 18 tackles (eight solo), including 3.0 sacks. Williams was primarily a starter in 2023 with the Rams, but he has started only three games in the two seasons since then.

Williams is active for Sunday's game against the Panthers. The 30-year-old weakside linebacker logged 22 defensive snaps in the Week 9 loss to the Rams where he totaled three tackles (two solo) including 1.0 sacks. He will likely be placed in the same defensive role against the Panthers as a rotational outside linebacker.

Williams signed with the Saints' active roster Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Williams didn't make the 53-man roster out of training camp, but he was elevated from the practice squad for the Week 1 loss versus the Cardinals, when he played 12 defensive snaps and recorded one tackle. The 30-year-old defensive end figures to handle a similar role in Week 2 versus the 49ers.
