Full go Wednesday
Seumalo (pectoral) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Seumalo missed the Steelers' first four games this season after sustaining a pectoral injury in late August, but following Wednesday's full practice, it appears he's moved past the issue. Expect the 29-year-old to serve as Pittsburgh's top left guard in Week 5, as the Steelers host the Cowboys.
Could return this week
Seumalo (pectoral) has a chance to play Sunday against the Cowboys, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Seumalo has yet to play this season after being injured during practice leading up to the Steelers' season opener. His return would certainly be a boost to the offensive line after they lost starting right guard, James Daniels to a torn Achilles in Week 4. Seumalo's status for Week 5 should become clearer after the team releases its first injury report this week.
Officially ruled out for Week 4
Seumalo (pectoral) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's game against the Colts, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports. Seumalo's pectoral injury has kept the 2016 third-round pick out of action through the first four games of the regular season. His next chance at playing will be Week 5 against the Cowboys on Oct. 6. Spencer Anderson will continue to serve as the Steelers' starting left guard while Seumalo is sidelined.
Unlikely to play in Week 4
Seumalo (pectoral) is considered to be doubtful to play Sunday versus the Colts, Teresa Varley of the Steelers official website reports. Seumalo has been working his way back from a pectoral injury he sustained in late August, but he appears set for another absence in Week 4. Spencer Anderson will likely draw another start at left guard against Indianapolis.
Not playing Week 3
Seumalo (pectoral) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. Seumalo has been unable to practice since injuring his pectoral in late August. His next chance at suiting up will be Week 4 against the Colts on Sept. 29. Spencer Anderson will start at left guard for the third consecutive game.
Out again for Week 2
Seumalo (pectoral) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos, Mike DeFabo of The Athletic reports. Seumalo will miss his second consecutive game to open the season after he was unable to practice all week. Spencer Anderson should make another start at left guard for Pittsburgh.
Ruled out for Week 1
Coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Seumalo (pectoral) won't suit up Week 1 versus the Falcons, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. Tomlin said he expects Seumalo back on the field "sooner rather than later," but he declined to provide a clearer return timetable than "week-to-week" for the starting offensive lineman. In the meantime, Alan Saunders of SteelersNow.com reports that Spencer Anderson will draw the start at left guard Sunday at Atlanta.
Leaves practice with pec injury
Seumalo left Monday's practice due to a pectoral injury ;and did not return, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Initial tests ruled out a season-ending injury for Seumalo, but the Steelers are still determining how much time the 2016 third-round pick could miss. That could indicate that Seumalo may begin the season on IR, which would force him to miss at least four games. 2023 seventh-round pick Spencer Anderson is currently listed on the Steelers' unofficial depth chart as the backup left guard behind Seumalo.
