Reed said Monday that he won't need surgery on his dislocated shoulder, Wes Hodkiewicz of the Packers' official site reports. He missed the end of Sunday's playoff loss to the Eagles but should be ready for OTAs in the spring. It was a disappointing end to a disappointing season in which 72.3 percent of Reed's receiving yards came in the first nine games. He appeared well on his way to a 1,000-yard campaign for much of the season, before averaging 29.6 receiving yards and 3.6 targets after a Week 10 bye, ultimately finishing with a 55-857-6 receiving line and 20-163-1 on the ground. Reed offers an unusual combination of rushing contributions and big receiving plays from the slot, but it's hard to say if/when he'll progress beyond boom/bust-WR3 status for fantasy.
Reed said after Sunday's 22-10 wild-card loss to the Eagles that he sustained a dislocated shoulder in the third quarter of the contest, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports. Already down Christian Watson (knee) due to a torn ACL heading into the postseason, the Packers then lost Reed and Romeo Doubs (concussion) to injuries Sunday to further thin their receiver ranks. Before checking out of the contest in the third quarter, Reed recorded four catches for 46 yards on four targets and brought back two punts for 26 yards. He could need surgery to address the issue, but either way he should be back to full health ahead of training camp in late July. Reed finished his second NFL campaign with 55 catches for a career-high 857 yards and six touchdowns on 75 targets over 17 games, while adding 163 rushing yards and another score on 20 carries.
Reed is questionable to return to Sunday's wild-card matchup against Philadelphia due to a shoulder injury, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Reed took a hard hit to his shoulder after making a catch in the third quarter. Fellow wideout Romeo Doubs has also exited to be evaluated for a concussion, leaving Dontayvion Wicks as the Packers' presumptive top wideout for the time being. Bo Melton and Malik Heath are also wide-receiver options for Jordan Love, and tight end Tucker Kraft could be an even more important part of the team's passing game.
Reed caught both of his targets for 48 yards in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Bears. He also rushed three times for three yards and lost a fumble. The Packers like to get the speedy Reed involved in the run game, but he had a pair of lowlights on the ground in this one, as he fumbled at the end of a four-yard run in the second quarter and was stuffed for minus-2 yards on a fourth-down carry to start the fourth quarter. Reed slumped down the stretch, as this was only the second time he exceeded 35 receiving yards in the last eight games. He finishes the regular season with 55 catches for 857 yards and six touchdowns on 75 targets, as well as 163 yards and a touchdown rushing. Reed will try to get back on track when the Packers travel to Philadelphia in the wild-card round, likely without fellow wide receiver Christian Watson (knee).
Reed recorded one reception on four targets for six yards in Sunday's 27-25 loss to the Vikings. Targets were projected to condense in the Green Bay offense with Christian Watson (knee) sidelined, making Reed's stat line even more disappointing. His biggest impact on the game came midway through the second quarter when he dropped a pass that would have been a conversion on fourth down. Since Green Bay's Week 10 bye, Reed has failed to reach 35 receiving yards in six of seven games.
Reed had three receptions (on four targets) for 76 yards while taking his lone carry for five yards in Monday's 34-0 rout of the Saints. Reed wound up finishing as the game leader in yards from scrimmage for either side in what turned out to be a one-sided matchup. Dontayvion Wicks hauled in the only passing touchdown of the night, but it was an otherwise strong showing from Reed. It was the 24-year-old's highest yardage total since recording 113 receiving yards against the Lions in Week 9. Reed remains a hit-or-miss asset in fantasy ahead of Sunday's tilt against Minnesota.
Reed caught five of six targets for 34 yards and rushed three times for 27 yards in Sunday's 30-13 win over the Seahawks. Reed was more involved after seeing just one target in Week 14 against the Lions, as he tied Christian Watson for the team lead in targets and led the Packers in catches, though four teammates had at least 34 receiving yards as well. Reed also produced 10 yards on two punt returns, one of which he muffed for a fumble but managed to get back on top of the ball. The slumping wide receiver will be a touchdown-dependent fantasy option in Week 16 against the Saints given his sporadic recent usage, but Reed's a perennial threat to score considering he has 17 total touchdowns through 30 career regular-season games.
Reed got one target and finished without a catch in Sunday's 34-31 loss to the Lions. Reed played 50 percent of snaps, which ties for his lowest share this season but doesn't fall outside the normal range. It's the seventh time he's logged 50-59 percent of snaps, as he still doesn't get much playing time in formations with fewer than three wide receivers. Reed has just one game all year with more than six targets, making him highly dependent on touchdowns and big plays, especially relative to other WRs that primarily man the slot. He has 12 targets and 73 receiving yards over the past four games, but with three of his eight catches in that span going for touchdowns. Reed will be a high-risk, high-reward lineup option once again Week 15 at Seattle, facing a defense that often uses top cornerback Devon Witherspoon in the slot.
Reed recorded three receptions on six targets for 24 yards and two touchdowns in Thursday's 30-17 win over the Dolphins. He added one rush for 23 yards. Reed got the job done early in the game, recording receiving scores of three and 12 yards by halftime. The Packers played from ahead by multiple scores for most of the contest, which limited Reed to only two targets in the second half. His lack of volume isn't unusual, and he now has under 30 receiving yards in three straight games. Reed is capable of big performances, but he's reliant on either big plays or reaching the end zone, leaving him as a boom or bust fantasy option.
