The Packers have agreed to a one-year deal with Cox, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. The one-year, $2.5 million deal will keep the restricted free agent with the Packers. Cox was a valuable rotational defensive piece, helping out on the edge when star pass rusher Micah Parsons went down in December of 2025. The 26-year-old played in just four 2025 regular-season games, down from seven in 2024.
Cox (groin) is listed as active for Saturday night's game against the Bears, Mike Spofford of the Packers' official site reports. Cox is set to see his first game since being moved to injured reserve Sept. 11. The defensive end will return just in time to reinforce a Packers defensive line that is reeling at the loss of Micah Parsons (ACL). Cox could receive some rotational snaps at defensive end behind Rashan Gary, Kingsley Enagbare. Arron Mosby, and Lukas Van Ness.
The Packers activated Cox (groin) from injured reserve Friday, but he is still listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Chicago, Paul Bretl of the Wisconsin State Journal reports. Cox has been on injured reserve since suffering a groin injury in Week 1. His activation from IR indicates that he'll be available for Saturday's NFC North tilt, and if he's cleared to play, then he'll give the Packers a much-needed boost on the defensive line in the absence of Micah Parsons (knee - IR).
