Ingram was signed to the active roster ahead of Kansas City's Week 3 matchup against Atlanta to provide backfield depth after Isiah Pacheco (fibula) was placed on injured reserve. Ingram ended up playing just five special-teams snaps in the Chiefs' win on Sunday over the Falcons, as he was buried on the depth chart behind Carson Steele and Samaje Perine. Ingram was waived Tuesday to make room on the active roster for Kareem Hunt, and the former will explore his next options should he clear waivers.
Ingram has been signed to the Chiefs' active roster. With Isiah Pacheco (leg) having landed on IR and out indefinitely, Ingram will bolster Kansas City's backfield depth ahead of Week 3 action. For now, Carson Steele and Samaje Perine are the other RBs on the team's active roster, with Clyde Edwards-Helaire on the reserve/non-football illness and Kareem Hunt having just been officially added to the practice squad. For now, Ingram figures to work in a depth role, though once Hunt is up to speed with the offense, he could be elevated and move ahead of Ingram on the team's depth chart.
Ingram signed with the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday. Ingram signed a reserve/future contract with the Chiefs in February after spending the first two years of his career with the Cardinals. He was unable to make Kansas City's 53-man roster after finishing the preseason with nine carries for 42 yards and two catches for nine yards, but the 2022 sixth-round pick will stick around on the practice squad.

Ingram's workload has been yanked around from week to week, and now that Emari Demercado (toe) is back from a three-game absence, the former will be the odd man out in the Cardinals backfield. James Conner will continue to be the team's lead runner, but Demercado and Michael Carter are the available running backs behind him.
