The Chiefs placed Bush (Achilles) on injured reserve Monday. This move was inevitable after Bush tore his left Achilles tendon in Saturday's preseason loss to Denver. The veteran safety will miss the entire 2025 campaign but has a chance of being ready for the 2026 season.

Suffers torn Achilles

Chiefs coach Andy Reid said Saturday that Bush suffered a torn left Achilles tendon during Saturday's 20-17 preseason loss to the Broncos, Nate Taylor of ESPN.com reports. Bush will miss the entire 2025 season due to the nature of the injury he picked up during Kansas City's preseason opener. Expect the Chiefs to officially place the veteran safety on IR in the coming days.

Ruled out with Achilles injury

Bush (Achilles) has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's preseason game against the Cardinals. Bush was carted off the field Saturday due to a left Achilles injury, per Nate Taylor of ESPN.com. The veteran safety will undergo testing to determine the severity of his injury in short order, but at this stage a season-ending injury looks within the realm of possibility. Bush has spent training camp competing for a reserve role with Kansas City.
