The Dolphins have decided to release White, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. White had been competing with Skylar Thompson for the No. 2 QB role throughout camp, and this move signifies that Thompson has emerged on top in that battle. There was a possibility that Miami would keep all three signal-callers on the 53-man roster, but White instead will need to look for work with a new organization. The 29-year-old completed just 20 of 43 pass attempts for 179 yards without a touchdown or interception during the preseason, but he's had enough in-game NFL experience with some success -- specifically in 2021 and 2022 with the Jets -- to be an appealing option for teams needing quarterback depth.
