Hollins got a lot of snaps earlier in the year, but it never translated to many targets, and his playing time then began to fall off. He hasn't played since Week 9, and if he returns this Sunday, it'll likely be as part of a three- of four-man rotation sharing snaps behind top wide receiver Drake London in one of the worst passing offenses in the NFL.
The wideout will miss a second straight game despite having a Week 11 bye in between. Van Jefferson and KhaDarel Hodge are the strongest candidates to play a lot of snaps across from WR Drake London this Sunday, with Scotty Miller also likely to have some kind of role. None figures to see a lot of targets, as the Falcons have two tight ends (Kyle Pitts, Jonnu Smith) and a running back (Bijan Robinson) that consistently get more looks than the team's Nos. 2 and 3 wide receivers. Hollins' next chance to play is Week 13 at the Jets.
Hollins operated with a cap on his reps Wednesday, so his downgrade in activity one day later is a worrisome sign for his potential to play Week 12. Friday's injury report could be telling for Hollins in that regard.
Hollins lost playing time to Van Jefferson and KhaDarel Hodge the past couple weeks and now will miss his first game of the season. It shouldn't have much impact on Atlanta's gameplan, especially with Drake London cleared to return after missing Week 9 with a groin injury. Hollins stands a decent chance to avoid additional absences with the Falcons on bye Week 11.
Hollins didn't see any snaps in the second half of this past Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Vikings after recording three catches for 36 yards between the first two quarters before departing with the ankle injury. While Smith didn't go into specifics regarding the severity of Hollins' health concern, the 30-year-old wideout's status for Week 10 looks to be up in the air, at the very least. Fortunately for Atlanta, Smith said that top wideout Drake London (groin) is looking likely to return to action against Arizona after sitting out Week 9.
Though the receivers typically aren't frequently involved in Atlanta's run-centric offense, the position group would be significantly compromised nonetheless if Hollins isn't able to check back into the game, as No. 1 wideout Drake London (groin) is inactive this week. Hollins recorded three receptions for 36 yards on three targets before leaving the contest to get his ankle checked out.
Hollins played at least 65 percent of the team's offensive snaps in each of the first four weeks, including a season-high 79 percent against the Jaguars in Week 4. However, his playing time has dropped since, culminating in a season-low 14 offensive snaps versus Tennessee. The wideout actually played more on special teams (25 snaps) than he did on offense Sunday. This is especially concerning given Drake London (groin) left the game in the third quarter and never returned. Hollins doesn't need to be on fantasy radars in standard leagues until he proves otherwise.
