McLendon (toe) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. McLendon has been dealing with turf toe since the team's second preseason game and was expected to miss several weeks. His move to IR will instead force him out for the 2024 campaign.
McLendon is expected to miss multiple weeks due to turf toe, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports. The issue cropped up for McLendon during Tennessee's second preseason game, and now it looks like it could leak into the start of the regular season. As long as he remains sidelined, Isaiah Iton Iton could be in line for more reps.
McLendon left Saturday's preseason game due to a foot injury, Terry McCormick of TitanInsider.com reports. The undrafted rookie free agent back in 2023 was essentially a special teams ace in his first season with the Titans, but he could face an uphill battle to make the active roster this go around given the team's dramatic coaching change this offseason.
McLendon (shoulder) registered one tackle in Saturday's 17-13 preseason win over San Francisco. McLendon played all 20 of his snaps on defense in the Titans' preseason opener. He appeared in seven regular-season games for Tennessee last season, finishing with eight tackles (three solo) while missing the final contest with a shoulder injury. McLendon is competing for a depth spot at defensive end behind starters Sebastian Joseph-Day and Jeffery Simmons.
