The Cardinals signed Baccellia to a reserve/future contract Monday, Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com reports. The 28-year-old spent his 2024 campaign with the Cardinals' practice squad after failing to make the team's active roster in late August. Baccellia most recently appeared in a regular-season game with the Cardinals in 2023, tallying 22 kick return yards while playing 64 total snaps (46 offensive and 18 on special teams). He's expected to compete for a depth role in Arizona's wide receiver corps throughout the offseason.
Baccellia signed with the Cardinals' practice squad Wednesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports. Baccellia has bounced between Arizona's active roster and practice squad each of the last two seasons, appearing in a total of 13 regular-season games. In that time, he's caught seven passes on 10 targets for 45 yards. He'll now have the opportunity to stick with the franchise and work toward carving out a larger role with the team.
The Cardinals waived Baccellia on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Baccellia spent most of the previous three seasons going up and down from the Cardinals' practice squad and active roster. He has seven career catches for 45 yards across 13 games. Baccellia caught seven passes for 85 scoreless yards during the preseason.
Just two days after signing with Arizona's active roster, Baccellia is now headed to waivers. In a corresponding move, the Cardinals claimed center Doug Kramer from waivers.
Baccellia signed to Arizona's active roster this past Saturday but was subsequently waived Monday after suiting up for Sunday's 31-24 loss to Baltimore. After passing through waivers unclaimed, the wide receiver has been added to Arizona's practice squad. He played eight snaps against the Ravens and returned one kickoff for 22 yards, so Baccellia could be a candidate to be elevated for Sunday's game against the Browns.
Baccellia signed to the Cardinals' active roster Saturday with Greg Dortch (ankle) inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens. Baccellia played eight snaps in the game and contributed with a 22-yard kick return. Balzer notes that it's likely that Baccellia will sign with Arizona's practice squad if he clears waivers.
Baccellia was cut by the Cardinals ahead of the 53-man roster deadline at the end of training camp, but elected to join the team's practice squad on Aug. 31. The undrafted wide receiver out of Washington made eight appearances for Arizona last season and caught seven of 10 passes for 45 yards.
