Jackson Barton: Breaking News

Links up with Browns

Barton (ankle) signed a contract with the Browns on Monday. Barton has recovered from the ankle injury that landed him on IR to close out his stint with the Cardinals in 2024. He'll compete for a depth role on Cleveland's offensive line.

Officially placed on IR

The Cardinals placed Barton (ankle) on injured reserve Saturday. Barton was already ruled out for Sunday's regular-season finale against the 49ers. His placement on IR allowed Arizona to sign safety Andre Chachere from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Barton appeared in four regular-season games for the Cardinals, including two starts at right tackle.

Ruled out for Week 18

Barton (ankle) was downgraded to out Saturday ahead of Sunday's game versus the 49ers, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports. Barton popped up on the injury report Friday due to an ankle issue and was initially deemed questionable for Sunday. However, the injury is severe enough that he's been ruled out with over 24 hours to go before kickoff. Per Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com, rookie Christian Jones is expected to make his first career NFL start Sunday in Barton's stead.
