Amy’s byline has appeared in PS, AltOhio, and Edible Omaha. She’s inspired by viral moments that say something bigger about our culture. You can see this in her piece, “TikTok’s ‘Plane Cheater’ Begs the Question: Why Cheat in Public?”
Beyond writing articles, Amy has worked as a content editor, creative writer, and grant writer. She’s written a spec script that made it to the second round at the Austin Film Festival and performed stand-up around Nebraska and Iowa.
She currently writes for Milford Magazine, a community magazine in Omaha, Nebraska.
Education
Amy Sand has a B.F.A. in creative writing from Stephens College in Columbia, MO. There, she had the pleasure of hosting a radio game show, announcing basketball games, writing for a radio drama, and leading the literary magazine as the editor-in-chief. In her senior year, she was named an Outstanding Creative Writing Senior, served as the president of the Sigma Tau Delta chapter, and was selected to represent "Sensitivity" as a part of the Ten Ideals.
She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in journalism through the University of Nebraska—Lincoln.
