Fairchild went 2-for-5 with two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Cardinals. Fairchild hit a two-run single, stole second and scored in a six-run fifth inning for the Reds. He later added a double in the ninth frame. Fairchild has registered at least one hit in six of his last seven contests and swiped three bases since June 25. On the season, the outfielder is hitting .232 with four home runs, 22 RBI, 21 runs scored and 10 steals over 172 plate appearances.
India went 2-for-5 with two RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Cardinals India hit an RBI double then scored in the second inning and added another RBI double in the seventh. The second baseman is on fire, extending his hit streak to 11 games and registering multiple hits in eight straight. He has increased his average to .279 with five home runs, 34 RBI, 38 runs scored and eight steals over 311 plate appearances this season. The 27-year-old will likely continue to hit leadoff until TJ Friedl (hamstring) returns from the injured list.
De La Cruz went 2-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 9-4 win over the Cardinals. De La Cruz hit an RBI double in the third inning and followed it up with his 40th steal of the season. He then tripled and scored in a six-run fifth frame for the Reds. After going eight games without a steal, the 22-year-old has now swiped a bag in three consecutive contests and continues to lead the league in the category. He did strike out three times to bring his league-leading season total to 110 but is still hitting a solid .255 with 14 home runs, 37 RBI and 55 runs scored over 355 plate appearances.
Spiers (2-1) earned the win against the Cardinals on Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and one walk with four strikeouts over six innings. Spiers allowed an unearned run in the third inning and surrendered a solo home run to Paul Goldschmidt in the sixth. He has now thrown exactly six innings in each of his three starts this season and has posted back-to-back quality start victories. On the year, the 26-year-old owns a 3.13 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 29:7 K:BB over 37.1 innings and lines up to face the Tigers next week.
Fraley (calf) is starting in right field and batting fourth Saturday against St. Louis. Fraley missed three games after being scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to a bruised calf, but the issue has subsided ahead of Saturday's contest. The 29-year-old outfielder currently owns a career-best .277 batting average on the season; however, his .676 OPS represents his lowest mark since joining the Reds in 2022.
Candelario (hamstring) isn't in the Reds' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals. Manager David Bell said Friday that Candelario is trending toward a return for Sunday's series finale, so it isn't too surprising to see the 30-year-old infielder absent from Saturday's lineup. Spencer Steer will once again get the nod at first base, and Noelvi Marte will cover the hot corner.
Maile isn't in the Reds' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals. After going 0-for-6 to begin the series, Maile will get a breather against Sonny Gray and the Cardinals on Saturday. Austin Wynns will take over behind the plate and bat ninth.
Benson started in right field and went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 1-0 loss to St. Louis. Benson, who was given a rare day off against a righty Wednesday, was in the starting lineup for a second consecutive game against a right-hander Friday. He stole his 10th base of the season, putting himself in scoring position, but Cincinnati was unable to get a key hit (1-for-10 with RISP). While Benson has struggled in 2024 -- he snapped a hitless run of 25 at-bats Thursday and is batting .191 -- the Reds have a couple of outfield injuries that should keep him in the lineup over the weekend. They are scheduled to face another righty, Lance Lynn, on Saturday.
