The Jaguars elevated Trammell from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday. Trammell was unable to make the Jaguars' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he opted to stick around on the practice squad. He could see some meaningful snaps on offense against the Eagles on Sunday if one or both of Brian Thomas (chest) and Gabe Davis (shoulder) are unable to play.
The Jaguars signed Trammell to their practice squad Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. Trammell will rejoin Jacksonville's squad after failing to make the team's initial 53-man roster Tuesday. The fourth-year wideout appeared in 16 games with the Rams in 2023, catching four of his seven targets for 29 yards and no touchdowns while also playing 139 special-teams snaps.
Trammell was waived by the Jaguars on Tuesday. Trammell was working to secure a spot with Jacksonville after playing 16 regular-season games with the Rams last season but ultimately was unable to do so. He'll now have to work to find another opportunity.
The Jaguars signed Trammell on Wednesday. The fourth-year wide receiver out of Rice spent the last three seasons with the Rams and Falcons, but he has now found a new home in Jacksonville. Trammell saw the most action of his career in 2023 when he served as the Rams' top return man, tallying 183 punt return yards and 101 kick return yards while also putting the ball on the ground three times. He's expected to compete for a similar role with the Jaguars as the offseason progresses.
