Brandon Scherff: Breaking News

Hangs up the cleats

Scherff announced his retirement from the NFL on Thursday, ESPN.com reports. Scherff initially joined the league as a 2015 first-round pick by Washington, and he now hangs up the cleats after 10 seasons in the NFL spent between the Commanders and Jaguars. The five-time Pro Bowler reportedly drew interest from teams around the league for the 2025 season, but he'll instead opt to call it a career.

Back in Sunday

Scherff (shoulder) has returned to Sunday's game against the Titans, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. The starting right guard got hurt while blocking on a pass play late in the first half and had to leave the contest. Scherff has started all 16 games for the Jaguars in 2024.

Hurts shoulder vs. Titans

Scherff is questionable to return to Sunday's Week 17 game against Tennessee due to a shoulder injury, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. Scherff was injured while blocking on a pass play in the second quarter and was deemed questionable to return with less than two minutes remaining in the period. Blake Hance entered at right guard in Scherff's stead.
