Tyson Campbell Latest News
Questionable to return Sunday
Campbell (thigh) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Texans, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. The cornerback recorded three solo tackles before leaving the game. Montaric Brown and De'Antre Prince are the extra cornerbacks available for the Jaguars.
Will play Week 13
Campbell (shoulder) does not have an injury designation for Sunday's contest versus Houston. Campbell hurt his shoulder Sunday against the Lions and logged a trio of limited practices this week, but he's clear to play against the Texans. The cornerback's top two tackle games have come over the past two weeks, as he notched nine stops against Minnesota in Week 10 and eight against Detroit in Week 11.
Opens week as limited participant
Campbell (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. The 24-year-old sustained a shoulder injury in the Jaguars' Week 11 loss to the Lions, and Wednesday's limited session suggests the team's Week 12 bye wasn't enough time to recover from the issue. Campbell's participation Thursday and Friday will likely provide the best indication of whether he can play Sunday, when the Jaguars host the Texans.
Dealing with shoulder injury
Campbell (shoulder) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Lions, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports. Campbell suffered the injury early in the second quarter of Sunday's game. While Campbell is sidelined, Montaric Brown will fill in at corner alongside Ronald Darby.
Cleared to play Sunday
Campbell (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Patriots. Campbell missed the Jaguars' last four games while on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, but he returned to practice this week before he was officially added back to the 53-man roster Saturday. Jacksonville still listed its top cornerback as questionable heading into game day, but the Jaguars saw enough from him during his three limited practices this week to clear him to play for the first time since Week 1.
Officially activated off IR
The Jaguars activated Campbell (hamstring) from injured reserve Saturday. Campbell was placed on injured reserve after he injured his hamstring in Week 1 against the Dolphins. His 21-day practice window opened Oct. 9, and unless he suffers a setback during warmups, he should make his return Sunday against the Patriots. Campbell will reclaim his starting role at corner opposite Ronald Darby while Montaric Brown returns to a rotational role.
On track to play Sunday
Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said Friday that Campbell (hamstring) is expected to come off IR and play Sunday versus the Patriots in London "barring any setbacks," Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. Pederson said Campbell has "had a good week of preparation." The 2021 second-round pick is coming off back-to-back limited practices, and he's now had roughly two weeks of practice to ramp up his activity level. Once fully recovered from the hamstring injury he sustained Week 1, Campbell will resume working as Jacksonville's top cornerback.
Won't return for Week 6
Campbell (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bears. Campbell has been on injured reserve since suffering an injury in Week 1. He was designated to return and practiced in limited fashion throughout the week, but he'll need more ramp-up time before returning to game action. Montaric Brown has played 100 percent of snaps in each of the last three games in Campbell's absence.
Ready to practice
The Jaguars designated Campbell (hamstring) for return from injured reserve Wednesday. As a result of the transaction, Campbell will be eligible to resume practicing Wednesday, as the Jaguars will have a 21-day window to add him back to the 53-man roster. The Georgia product suffered the hamstring injury in the team's season-opening loss to the Dolphins, but once healthy he'll reclaim duties as the Jaguars' No. 1 cornerback. Though Campbell will be eligible to play Sunday against the Bears in London, head coach Doug Pederson told John Shipley of SI.com that the cornerback is more likely to return for a Week 7 game against New England.
