Miller recorded seven total tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 52-6 loss to the Lions. The second-year linebacker from Florida was the Jaguars' third-leading tackler in Sunday's blowout loss, despite playing just 48 percent of the team's defensive snaps. Miller appears to be firmly behind both Foyesade Oluokun and Devin Lloyd in the Jaguars' linebacker corps; however, he's still expected to make plays when given the opportunity as the season progresses.

Ventrell Miller Latest News
Solid effort in loss
Miller recorded seven total tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 52-6 loss to the Lions. The second-year linebacker from Florida was the Jaguars' third-leading tackler in Sunday's blowout loss, despite playing just 48 percent of the team's defensive snaps. Miller appears to be firmly behind both Foyesade Oluokun and Devin Lloyd in the Jaguars' linebacker corps; however, he's still expected to make plays when given the opportunity as the season progresses.
Makes eight tackles in defeat
Miller recorded eight tackles (four solo) in Sunday's 28-23 loss to the Eagles. The linebacker also played on more than 50 percent of the defensive snaps even with Foyesade Oluokun and Devin Lloyd both healthy and available. Miller has now played on more than half of the defensive snaps in six straight games. He has 62 tackles (42 solo), a pass breakup and a forced fumble on the year.
Still seeing significant role
Miller recorded seven tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 30-27 loss versus the Packers. In spite of the return of Foyesade Oluokun from a four-game absence in Week 8, Miller was still on the field for a healthy 41 snaps Sunday. He actually got more snaps than Devin Lloyd (37), which is the first time that's happened this season in a game both players were active for. The Jaguars will travel to face a run-heavy Philadelphia team in Week 9.
Posts 10 tackles again
Miller recorded 10 tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 32-16 win against the Patriots. Miller's tackle total was in the double-digits for the third time in his last four games in Week 7. He's still second fiddle to Devin Lloyd in terms of snaps at linebacker, but Miller's recent production has put him on the IDP map even while Lloyd is healthy.
Leading tackler in loss
Miller logged 10 tackles (eight solo) Sunday during the Jaguars' loss to the Bears. Miller was one of Jacksonville's lone bright spots during Sunday's blowout loss to Chicago as he managed to record double-digit tackles for the second time this season. The rookie fourth-round pick has now amassed 37 tackles (27 solo) across the first six games of his career.
Thrives in extended opportunity
Miller tallied 11 tackles (eight solo), including one for loss, in Sunday's Week 4 defeat to Houston. Miller paced the Jaguars in stops, exceeding the nine he totaled over the first three weeks of the campaign combined. The 25-year-old logged a season-high 84 percent of Jacksonville's defensive snaps due largely to the absence of Foyesade Oluokun (foot). Oluokun was placed on IR on Saturday, so Miller is likely to continue to work in a starting role for at least the next three weeks.
Past Achilles issue
Miller (Achilles) was spotted participating in Thursday's practice, John Shipley of SI.com reports. The 2023 fourth-round pick out of Florida missed his entire rookie campaign due to an Achilles injury, but it now appears that he's moved past the issue. Miller was flying all over the field during Thursday's practice, and he'll likely be competing for a depth role in the Jaguars' linebacker corps as training camp continues.
Working back from injury
Miller is progressing in his return from an Achilles injury, Demetrius Harvey of The Florida Times-Union reports. Miller was hurt in the Jaguars' final preseason contest last August and missed the entire campaign. The 2023 fourth-round pick will look to make his NFL debut in 2024 and could work his way up to prominent role among the team's linebacker corps.
