With Super Tuesday in the rearview mirror, the GOP presidential race looks a lot like it did a week ago: Donald Trump is the clear frontrunner, while Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are vowing to keep fighting, each with their eyes on a relatively narrow path to the nomination. John Kasich and Ben Carson, neither of whom have even a remotely viable path to the nomination, are also still in the race.
Trump won seven out of the 11 states up for grabs Tuesday, but hauled in fewer delegates than expected. He lost two states — Oklahoma and Alaska — where he had been leading in the polls, and barely held off Rubio in Virginia.
Cruz won his home state of Texas convincingly, added wins in Oklahoma and Alaska, and urged the other non-Trump candidates in the race to consider dropping out and endorsing him.
Rubio won Minnesota — his first victory in any state — and very nearly upset Trump in Virginia, lending credence to the idea that his blistering attacks on Trump over the past week have been working. But Rubio fell short of the 20 percent delegate threshold in Texas and Alabama, denying him any delegates in those states and making it a so-so night at best.
Here’s a look at the Super Tuesday GOP results. (Click here for a breakdown of how GOP delegates are allocated.)
