White recorded three tackles (two solo) during Sunday's 23-20 win versus the Colts. White collecting three tackles in his debut with Houston wasn't necessarily remarkable, but his 32 defensive snaps were second among Texans linebackers in Week 8. If Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) and Henry To'oTo'o (concussion) both fail to return from their respective injuries in Week 9, White could be in line for a similar role against the Jets.

Devin White Latest News
Puts fingerprints on win
White recorded three tackles (two solo) during Sunday's 23-20 win versus the Colts. White collecting three tackles in his debut with Houston wasn't necessarily remarkable, but his 32 defensive snaps were second among Texans linebackers in Week 8. If Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) and Henry To'oTo'o (concussion) both fail to return from their respective injuries in Week 9, White could be in line for a similar role against the Jets.
Set to start Week 8
With Henry To'oTo'o (concussion) and Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) both inactive, White will start at outside linebacker against the Colts on Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. After spending the first five years of his NFL career with the Buccaneers, White signed a one-year contract with the Eagles in March. However, he was a healthy scratch over Philadelphia's first four games of the regular season, and the 2019 first-round pick was released Oct. 8. White signed with the Texans on Wednesday, and he'll see action immediately with both To'oTo'o and Al-Shaair sidelined for Sunday's game. Across 14 regular-season games with Tampa Bay in 2023, White logged 83 tackles (49 solo), including 2.5 sacks, six passes defended and two interceptions.
Joining Texans
Houston signed White on Wednesday. White was released by Philadelphia ahead of Week 6, but he's already found an opportunity with a new team as Week 8 approaches. With both Azeez Al-Shaair (knee) and Henry To'oTo'o (concussion) dealing with injuries, White could be in line for playing time with the Texans relatively soon.
Gets let go
White was released by the Eagles on Tuesday. White was expected to land a starting role in Philadelphia when he joined the team on a one-year contract in March. However, things didn't go as planned for the LSU product, who never ended up suiting up for the Eagles. An ankle injury derailed his start to the season, but even once healthy the 26-year-old was inactive as a healthy scratch and most recently missed the team's last game for personal reasons. It's unclear where White will go from here and if the personal reasons for his latest absence are due to a falling out with the team or something that could keep him away from the football field for a while.
Missing Week 4
White (personal) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Buccaneers. White will miss his fourth consecutive game Sunday, as the first-year Eagle was held out of the Philadelphia's Week 1 win over the Packers with an ankle injury and has been a healthy scratch in the past two contests. Expect Jeremiah Trotter to serve as the Eagles' top rotational inside linebacker in White's stead.
Healthy scratch again
White (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints. White was held out of the Eagles' regular-season opener against the Packers due to an ankle injury, but the 2019 first-round pick has been a healthy scratch for Week 2 and 3. With White inactive, Jeremiah Trotter will be the primary backup at inside linebacker Sunday behind starters Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean.
Healthy scratch
White will not play in Monday's matchup with the Falcons due to a coach's decision. White did not play in the Eagles' season-opening win over the Packers due to an ankle injury. He overcame the issue during practice this past week and is cleared to play, but it looks like the Eagles' coaching staff is not prepared to roll him out yet. As a result, Jeremiah Trotter, Oren Burks and Ben VanSumeren will be the available depth options at inside linebacker behind Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean.
Practices in full Thursday
White (ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. White wasn't able to play in the Eagles' season-opening win over the Packers, but his full participation in Thursday's practice is a good sign that he will be available for Week 2 against the Falcons on Monday. The 2019 first-round pick was a full-time starter over his first five NFL seasons in Tampa Bay, but he's expected to settle for a backup role behind inside linebackers Zack Baun and Nakobe Dean after signing with Philadelphia on a one-year deal this offseason.
Ruled out for Week 1
White (ankle) didn't travel with the Eagles to Brazil and has been ruled out for Friday's season opener versus the Packers. After a five-year run with Tampa Bay, the 2019 first-round pick joined the Eagles on a one-year contract in the offseason and was projected to serve as a starter at inside linebacker. His Philadelphia debut will have to wait at least one week, however, as White didn't make the trip to Brazil after he was limited in practice Tuesday due to the injury. Per Ashlyn Sullivan of NBC Sports Philadelphia, Nakobe Dean is the most likely candidate to start alongside Zack Baun at inside linebacker sans White.
