Johnny Johnson: Everything you need to know

The Steelers worked out Johnson (arm) on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Johnson spent the offseason with the Texans but was injured early on during training camp and eventually cut with an injury settlement. The 26-year-old wide receiver has appeared in two career regular-season games, seeing five snaps on special teams.

The Texans waived Johnson (arm) with an injury settlement Friday, per the NFL's transaction log. Johnson was in line to spend the entire 2025 campaign on Houston's injured reserve list with an arm injury, but he'll now go to free agency instead. It's not clear when he'll be fully recovered and back in playing shape again.

He wasn't claimed off waivers by another team, and by reverting to the Texans' IR, Johnson will be forced to miss the entire 2025 season unless an injury settlement is reached. He spent the entire 2024 season on the Texans' practice squad and has appeared in two regular-season games since his rookie campaign in 2022.
