Case Keenum: Breaking News

Staying in Chicago on two-year pact

Keenum is re-signing with the Bears on a two-year contract Monday, Chris Emma of The Score reports. Keenum served as the third-string quarterback behind Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent in 2025. That role isn't expected to change in 2026, but Chicago values the 38-year-old Keenum's experience and will keep Keenum aboard as a mentor to Williams.

Emergency QB versus Los Angeles

Keenum (coach's decision) is inactive but serving as the Bears' emergency No. 3 quarterback in Sunday's divisional-round contest against the Rams, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official website reports. Keenum will once again operate as the team's third option at quarterback in the NFC Divisional round. The 37-year-old will only be eligible to enter the game if both starter Caleb Williams and backup Tyson Bagent are forced to exit the contest.

Designated as emergency QB

Keenum (coach's decision) is inactive but will serve as Chicago's emergency third quarterback versus the Lions on Sunday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports. As he has all year, Keenum will spend Sunday's game on the bench unless both starter Caleb Williams and backup Tyson Bagent become unable to play. It appears Keenum will likely end the regular season without taking a snap.
