Mixon rushed 20 times for 109 yards and three touchdowns and secured two of four targets for 44 yards in the Texans' 34-10 win over the Cowboys on Monday night. A week after being bottled up by a talented Lions defense, Mixon was right back to dominating the opposition with a stellar effort on the ground. Mixon struck early, rattling off a 45-yard touchdown run to cap off the opening drive of the game and subsequently recording a one-yard scoring rush late in the first quarter. The prolific back would replicate the latter feat with 3:16 remaining to close out the scoring on the night, recording a new single-game-high TD total in the process. Mixon also curiously posted his second straight two-catch, 44-yard showing, affording him plenty of momentum ahead of a Week 12 home date with the division rival Titans.

Joe Mixon Latest News
Bounces back with three-TD night
Bottled up after early TD
Mixon rushed the ball 25 times for 46 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-23 loss to the Lions. He added two receptions on four targets for 44 yards. The Lions have boasted one of the better run defenses for much of the season, and the unit largely limited Mixon on the ground Sunday. The exception came on Houston's first offensive possession, which he capped with an eight-yard touchdown run. Mixon's notable production otherwise came as a pass catcher, when he ripped off a 36-yard catch-and-run late in the first quarter. While he was bottled up thereafter, Mixon has found the end zone in all but one game this season and has been among the most reliable producers at the position.
Another touchdown in loss
Mixon rushed 24 times for 106 yards and a touchdown in the Texans' 21-13 loss to the Jets on Thursday night. He also threw an incomplete pass on his only attempt. The Texans' passing game struggled throughout most of the night, with C.J. Stroud taking eight sacks and 11 hits overall. However, Mixon continued to produce to his typically high standard, recording his fourth consecutive 100-yard tally and his fifth rushing touchdown (sixth overall) in the last four games on a three-yard run late in the second quarter. The veteran back did go without a target for the first time all season, but Mixon boasts as reliable a floor at his position as there is in the league heading into a Week 10 Sunday night showdown against the Lions on Nov. 10.
Another robust workload Sunday
Mixon rushed 25 times for 102 yards and a touchdown and secured four of six targets for 32 yards in the Texans' 23-20 win over the Colts on Sunday. Another week, another true workhorse role for Mixon, who once again made good use of his opportunities by eclipsing the 100-yard mark for the third straight game and fourth time overall on the season. Mixon also extended his streak of games with at least one rushing touchdown to three via a 14-yard run early in the second quarter, and all three components of his receiving line were season highs as well. Mixon continues to profile as an elite fantasy asset at his position heading into a Week 9 road Halloween showdown against the Jets on Thursday night.
Scores twice in narrow defeat
Mixon rushed 25 times for 115 yards and two touchdowns while catching two of three targets for nine yards in Sunday's 24-22 loss to the Packers. Mixon carried Houston's offense while C.J. Stroud threw for only 86 yards. The veteran running back ran in touchdowns of two and four yards in the second quarter, with the second score capping a drive that also featured a 32-yard Mixon burst on the ground. Mixon has been terrific when healthy, and he'll have a nice opportunity to keep rolling in Week 8 against a Colts defense that he ravaged for 159 rushing yards and a touchdown in the season opener.
Cleared to face Packers
Mixon (ankle) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Packers. Mixon was limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday before being deemed a full participant Friday, which paves the way for him to continue to lead Houston's backfield this weekend. In the running back's return from a three-game absence in last week's 41-21 win over the Patriots, Mixon carried 13 times for 102 yards and a touchdown while adding two catches for 30 yards and another score on three targets. Now that he's further removed from the ankle injury that previously sidelined him, it's plausible that Mixon could see more touches Week 7, with Dameon Pierce and Dare Ogunbowale available to handle complementary work versus Green Bay.
Still limited at practice
Mixon (ankle) remained limited at practice Thursday. Mixon logged 13 carries for 102 yards and a touchdown while adding two catches for 30 yards and another score on three targets in his return from a three-game absence in this past Sunday's 41-21 win over the Patriots. Given that there's been no reported setbacks with his ankle since then, the running back's Week 7 status doesn't appear to be in danger, but Mixon will probably need to practice fully Friday in order to approach this weekend's game against the Packers without an injury designation.
Logs limited practice
Mixon (ankle) was limited at practice Wednesday. In his return from a three-game absence in this past Sunday's 41-21 win over the Patriots, Mixon carried 13 times for 102 yards and a touchdown while adding two catches for 30 yards and a receiving score on three targets. With no reported setbacks in that contest, there's a solid chance that the running back's listed limitations Wednesday are maintenance-related rather than representative of a setback with his ankle.
Scores twice in return from injury
Mixon (ankle) rushed 13 times for 102 yards and a touchdown while adding two catches for 30 yards and a touchdown on three targets in Sunday's 41-21 win over the Patriots. Mixon got two carries from inside the five-yard line on the opening drive but showed some rust in his return from a three-game absence, combining for minus-1 yard on those two attempts. He made no mistake with another red-zone opportunity on the next drive, scoring a 10-yard receiving touchdown to give the Texans a 14-0 lead. Mixon later broke off a 59-yard run in the second quarter and put the game away with a 20-yard touchdown run in the fourth. In the two games he has played from start to finish this season, Mixon has produced a sensational 310 scrimmage yards and three touchdowns. His ankle injury seems to be firmly in the rearview mirror heading into a Week 7 road game against the Packers.
