White was able to play through his foot injury in Week 12 at Indianapolis, but he'll now have to sit out his first game this season as he nurses the issue. Fellow starting linebacker Lavonte David (groin) will also be sidelined in Week 13, leaving rookie fifth-rounder SirVocea Dennis (illness) as the projected captain of Tampa Bay's defense with 2021 fifth-rounder K.J. Britt standing by in case Dennis is ruled out too.
White could be trending in the wrong direction to play in Week 13, as he went from limited participation at Wednesday's practice to a DNP on Thursday. The All-Pro linebacker has been missing practices over the last two weeks with this foot issue, but it has yet to stop him from suiting up on Sundays. After logging this DNP, White will almost certainly carry an injury designation into the weekend.
White had been trending in the right direction over the last two days of Week 11 prep, closing out the week with a full Friday practice to portend Sunday's active status. The talented linebacker will thus be available to help in the Buccaneers' quest to slow down a dangerous 49ers offense that seemed to rediscover its footing in a lopsided Week 10 win over the Jaguars.
White was able to get a sack for the second consecutive week after taking down quarterback Will Levis in the second quarter, but ranked he fifth on his team in total tackles even after recording back-to-back nine-tackle outings. White has also not recorded an outing with more total tackles than leading linebacker Lavonte David since Week 1 even though their snap count remains very similar each week. White still sees the field for almost every snap each week and should continue to be a decent option for IDP leagues especially if he can keep his sack streak alive in the coming weeks.
