Antonio Brown finds himself in another controversy.

Antonio Brown may take flight on a highlight-worthy catch once or more this fall with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he apparently settles for catching balls on flights in the offseason.

Brown shared a video of catching and passing a football during a flight on his private jet on May 19.

Brown has posted workout clips other times this offseason, including one with Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Marquise Brown, a cousin of Antonio Brown’s. The Bucs wide receiver also worked out with running back Leonard Fournette earlier in the offseason and told Bucs Tracker that he and Fournette, both free agents at the time, would rejoin the Bucs.

Brown another flight video from his plane on Monday, the day before he officially re-signed with the Bucs. He added the text “headed to Tampa” in the video.

Better Late Than Never

Bucs general manager Jason Licht originally anticipated  Brown showing up on Monday, which he told Ira Kaufman on “The Eye Test for Two” podcast last week.

Brown, agreed to re-sign a one-year contract worth up to $6.25 million, on April 28. Had to “pass the physical first” and needed his knee scoped according to Bucs head coach Bruce Arians.

“Hopefully we’ll have a scope on Tuesday (May 25), get his knee cleaned up, and everything will work out fine. It’s just the matter of the physical,” Arians told Pewter Report.

If any doubt remained on Monday about Brown’s re-signing, he posted an Instagram story on Monday with his son in his Bucs jersey before sharing a video from his plane ride to Tampa.

An Uncertain Offseason for Brown

Brown recovering from a knee injury in the Divisional Round of the NFC playoffs to compete in Super Bowl LV seemed like the most certain thing for the former All-Pro.

He sustained the injury against the New Orleans Saints and played little in the second half. He then missed the NFC Championship Game in Green Bay to heal up, but he contributed in the Super Bowl with a touchdown.

Tampa nor Brown reported any plans for offseason surgery on the knee. It also hasn’t been confirmed if the knee Brown had scoped last week is the same knee or the same injury from January according to CBS Sports’ Patrick Walker.

Brown became one of the 20-plus free agents from the Bucs in the offseason. Tampa re-signed all 22 of its starters, which didn’t include Brown, from its Super Bowl team.

Brown started dropping hints on Instagram that he would return to the Bucs but remained unsigned through April.

Reports of other star quarterbacks wanting Brown to join their respective teams resurfaced, too. Suitors included the Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson and the Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson, who was seen working out with Brown this offseason. Kansas City reportedly made an offer to Brown.

Legal troubles followed Brown throughout the offseason, possibly impacting his availability in 2021. He had a trial for December 2021 in a civil lawsuit over sexual assault and rape allegations, but he and former trainer Britney Taylor settled in April. He also faces a new civil lawsuit over an altercation with a truck driver, previously addressed in criminal court.
